At the 17th edition of the Play Festival, held from May 22nd to 24th, 2026 in Bologna, we participated with a project that combines immediacy, skill, and a strong social component at the table.
The event, held at the Bologna Exhibition Center, once again confirmed its position as one of the leading Italian events dedicated to comics and games, with steadily growing numbers: over 43,000 square meters of covered space and more than 35,000 unique visitors. A young, crowded, and energetic atmosphere made this edition particularly significant for exhibitors and players.
Our booth, located in Hall 20, was a constant hub for enthusiasts, curious visitors, and families. Many stopped by to try a game of Real Queen, often starting from scratch and learning the rules on the spot. Interest was immediate: the game's format, based on physical and intuitive mechanics, made it easy for even new players to join in, generating constantly active tables and a steady flow of games.
We shared this experience with our friends at the Board Game Social Club, with whom we established a continuous, natural, and very positive collaboration throughout the fair. Their presence made the space even more welcoming, facilitating visitor engagement and the organization of game sessions.
One of the most notable aspects of this edition was the extremely high level of interest, not only in our game, but also in the number of available copies, which sold out like hotcakes!
A clear sign of the growing curiosity surrounding Real Queen and the potential the game is expressing at trade fairs of this caliber.
As always, Play Festival 2026 proved to be an intense and highly productive experience, both in terms of public engagement and the project's visibility. This edition confirms how accessible and immediate board games can inspire authentic community and active participation.
